150th Show Opening
Ceremony
The Official Opening of the 150th
Canterbury A&P Show will be held at 11am on Wednesday 14
November at Canterbury Agricultural Park. Canterbury A&P
Association President Richard Lemon will open the 150th
Show, raise the flags and unveil a plaque in recognition of
the milestone year, in front of vip guests and Show
visitors. The Opening will coincide with the launch of
When Country Comes to Town, a commemorative book
charting the history of the Association and annual Show.
Mandy Pickering and Band
Mandy
Pickering’s singing career was launched with her winning
performance on the last series of Stars in Their Eyes.
Following her success, she has released her debut album to
critical acclaim, toured throughout New Zealand and
Australia and performed at a variety of events around the
country. Mandy is currently recording new material,
including the recently released single Anything For You.
Accompanied by her talented band, Mandy will be performing a
variety of her original and cover songs in her own unique
soulful style.
Moorhouse
Christchurch
boy band Moorhouse has made waves internationally on YouTube
with the debut of their first video Titanium clocking up
over 200,000 views, with over 13,000 fans on their Facebook
page, since their debut in early 2012. The four piece vocal
band, Brock, Rory, Jason and Rameka, are 18 year old
students, currently studying music. Their sound is fresh and
current pop, with a strong fan base both locally and
nationally.
Mint Lamb
Competition
Farmers from throughout New Zealand
were invited to showcase their quality lamb and compete in
the 2012 Mint Lamb Competition. Lambs were judged on the
hook at an Alliance plant for Best Overall Yield with the
Top Best Overall Yield from each class and then the next ten
highest yielding lambs overall Tender Tested at Lincoln
University. They will be Taste Tested at the Canterbury A&P
Show on Wednesday 14 November with the winner announced
following the judging.
The 2012 Canterbury A&P Show will be held Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 November at Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch. It is the largest A&P Show in the country attracting over 100,000 people, close to 7000 livestock and feature competition entries and 600 trade exhibitors.
