at BIG BOYS TOYS, ASB Showgrounds November 10 – 11.
The 2012 CrossFit Auckland Games is the fourth installment of the CrossFit Auckland Games. As this annual event continues to grow it promises to be an exciting two days of grueling competition to entertain fitness enthusiasts of all codes. Gates open at 10am – Big Boys Toys, ASB Showgrounds Saturday and Sunday November 10th and 11th.

“The CrossFit regime is described as ‘constantly varied, functional movement performed at high intensity’ and can be accomplished by athletes or individuals seeking to achieve personal fitness milestones. CrossFit is not just for elite athletes,” says Coach Alex Porter. Every workout is guided by a coach who will assist to scale the prescription to your physical capability while maintaining a motivating group training environment, which is what makes the club community so tightly knit and powerful.
What type of sporting event is the CrossFit Auckland Games?
The CrossFit Games are the world’s premier test to find the fittest men and women on earth. The annual CrossFit Auckland Games is a strength and fitness competition that attracts CrossFit athletes New Zealand wide.
CrossFit’s definition of fitness means being ready for the unknown and the unknowable, so the events change every year and are not announced until just before the competition begins. This requires that athlete’s train across a broad range of functional fitness genres in preparation for the sport. This may include complex Olympic weightlifting or gymnastic based movements mixed with endurance and an unimaginable number of athletic tasks. CrossFit Auckland members would say that the training regime prepares them for life and anything that might come their way.
This is why the CrossFit Games name their champions the fittest on earth!
The 2012 CrossFit Auckland Games hosts many of New Zealand’s top CrossFit competitors giving them a forum to hone their sport and rank themselves against other New Zealand athletes; many of which are in preparation to qualify for the 2013 international CrossFit Games competition. With athletes of all ages participating in this sport, this years 2012 CrossFit Auckland Games features a masters division for the first time in New Zealand.
