Port Hills zoning review applications closing tonight
Media Release – 26 October 2012
Port Hills zoning review applications closing tonight
Port Hills property owners have until midnight tonight to submit an online application to the zoning review panel.
As at 5.30pm today, 133 applications had been received. However as these have not all been assessed for validity, the final number of applications will not be available until next week.
Those who have already submitted an application may now want to review the CERA rock roll information made public earlier today, to assess its relevance to their land.
These property owners will have an additional two weeks, until 16 November, to supply CERA with the supplementary information. However it should be noted that all of the information available to CERA in the course of the zoning process will automatically be used in the review.
The review relates to the Red and Green land zones only.
The section 124 notices that prevent occupation of many Port Hills homes are administered by the Christchurch City Council.
As with the flat land review, the Port Hills’ zoning review panel will be chaired by Dr Keith Turner.
It will include public policy and legal experts from CERA, along with an independent geotechnical engineer who has had no involvement in previous zoning decisions.
The Christchurch City Council will also have a representative on the panel. The review will be completed in December.
Any Port Hills property owners who still wish to lodge an application in the review can do so through this link http://cera.govt.nz/webform/port-hills-zoning-review
