Northland Field Days Gets New Event Manager
A NEW pair of hands are in charge of keeping things on the straight and narrow at the Northland Field Days, the region's
biggest outdoor event.
New Dargaville resident, Meagan Edmonds, has taken up the mantle of Northland Field Days event coordinator, a challenge
she says she is excited about.
"Everybody's telling me that I'm not going to know what hit me but I'm looking forward to it."
Meagan has been in the job since August and says that she has been kept busy by a steady stream of exhibitors
registering for the 2013 event on February 21 to 23.
"A whole lot of people have already registered for next year," says Meagan. "There are quite a few new people as well."
Northland Field Days president, Lew Duggan says that the event is in good hands with Edmonds handling bookings and
administration duties.
"She has a wide range of experience and skills and I know that they will be put to good use in her new role," says
Duggan.
Meagan says she looks forward to seeing exactly what exhibitors have to offer at the event and will even be taking part
in some of the competitions.
"I'm going to enter the tractor pull, it should be exciting."
Held on February 21 – 23 in Dargaville just 2 ½ hours north west of Auckland the Northland Field Days is arguably the
largest regional agricultural event in New Zealand.
