Raglan's Main Street To Be Resealed

Raglan's Main Street To Be Resealed

Over twenty Raglan roads will be resealed this summer including Raglan’s main street, Bow Street.

As part of the Waikato District Council’s 2012/2013 resealing programme, resealing work will begin in Raglan during the week of 23 October, taking approximately three weeks depending on the weather.

The planned start date for resealing Bow Street will be 29 October subject to weather conditions on the day. Sections of Bow Street will be closed off as the contractor, Downer, resurfaces the road. It is envisaged that it will take two days to complete this work.

General Manager Roading & Projects, Ian Gooden said while there will be full pedestrian access at all times on Bow Street, a detour will be in place for traffic.

“It’s unfortunate we have to close parts of Bow Street and we apologise for any inconvenience to traffic, however the end result will be worth it. Once the work is finished we will have a well maintained and most importantly a safer street,” he said.

Prior to work starting, signs will be erected at both ends of Bow Street indicating the dates of the resealing work.

Visitors to the area will be encouraged to use car parking on Bankart Street, Wallis Street and Wainui Road, as no car parking will be available on Bow Street while the resealing is being carried out.
