Weed Weapon Cleans Up Sydenham Quarter

Weed Weapon Cleans Up Sydenham Quarter

10th October 2012

People may not have enjoyed the wet weather experienced through winter and early spring in many parts of New Zealand, but weeds have. And nowhere is that more apparent than in earthquake affected parts of Christchurch where weeds are taking over. So the team at Kiwicare has got together with the Sydenham Quarter and Mitre 10 Beckenham to take down out of control weeds.

This Saturday, the 13th of October, at 10am a crew will out in force armed with Weed Weapon by Kiwicare to attack the weeds overtaking the vacant lots along Colombo Street.

“Kiwicare is a proud Canterbury company and when we heard about the Sydenham clean-up we jumped at the chance to help out,” says Fiona Platt, Kiwicare Marketing Manager. “Weed Weapon is perfect for the job. It’s a brand new product that was designed, tested and manufactured in Christchurch and uses breakthrough technology to kill weeds faster”.

Anthony Barker, Vice Chairman of Sydenham Quarter is thrilled to see the community come together to support this event. “There is a real community spirit within Sydenham now, with new businesses arriving all the time”, says Anthony. “We felt it was time to give the area a spring clean and make it even more appealing for people to come along and see what Sydenham has to offer.”

If you have a community clean up that Kiwicare may be able to help with or want to know more about Weed Weapon please visit www.kiwicare.co.nz.
