Taita Family Hoopla – Saturday 29 September
11am – 3pm, Walter Nash Stadium, Tocker St, Taita
Hutt City Council invites you to attend a fun-filled day which will showcase a range of activities to entertain the whole family.
Kids of all ages will have a chance to play on giant inflatables, listen to tales from local storyteller Moira Wairama, play ball with local sports personalities, be dazzled by magic shows, and be entertained by a variety of other activities and performers.
It’s also your opportunity to check out the draft plans for the new Taita Community, Recreation and Sports Centre development.
The $12m development will combine the Walter Nash Stadium, Taita Community Hall, Taita Community Library and Hutt Valley netball courts and will be a hub for community programmes, services and activities for the local area featuring:
• 5 indoor multi-purpose courts
• a new library (relocated from existing)
• community meeting spaces
• a community fitness centre
• a cafe
• up to 11 more courts outside
Entry to the Hoopla is by gold coin with proceeds going towards the fundraising efforts for the new development. Representatives from Hutt City Council and the new Community Facilities Trust will be on hand to answer any queries.
The Hoopla is the kick-off to the annual Kids Fest children’s festival taking place during the October school holidays which features a whole array of events for children aged 5 to 10 years old. More information on Kids Fest is available at www.huttcity.govt.nz/kidsfest
The Taita Family Hoopla is a partnership between Hutt City Council, Taita Community Centre Trust, Netball Hutt Valley and Hutt Valley Basketball.
There really is something for everyone, so bring yourself, friends and family and come enjoy a great day out and make the new development your own.
Parking is available on Tocker Street and surrounds. There will be food and refreshments on site.
