New Board Trustee Appointed
‘The Auckland Pride Festival Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Heavey to the Board.
Linda Heavey has been an active participant in the Auckland's gay community over the past 25 years, and has been a key
driving force behind a number of gay events that took place, some including "The Auction" performance event and "Out of
the Red" Hero Project fundraiser event. Linda's connections and strong relationships with the GLBT community are evident
in her work and achievements. Her skills and experience in strategic event planning, marketing and promotion, and
fundraising, are inherent to her position and standing on the Trust Board. Linda takes over from Timothy McMichael who
has withdrawn from the Trust for personal reasons.'
The Auckland Pride Festival Trust congratulates and welcomes Linda Heavey to the Board. “Its a pleasure to have Linda
join the Trust” says Co-chair Gresham Bradley. “She brings skills and experience of direct relevance to the challenges
ahead. I know that all members of the Trust thank Timothy McMichael for all his hard-work, efforts and time spent to
date on the Board. We will miss his contributions. He has been pivotal in ensuring the Trust gets its management
systems, policies and staff in place so that the Pride Festival runs smoothly and the successful event we are all
working towards in 2013.“
Megan Cunningham-Adams has been selected to take over as Co-chair alongside Gresham on the Trust Board. "I'm thrilled
that the Board has shown this level of confidence in me, and I'm looking forward to working in this role for the 2013
Festival", says, Megan Cunningham-Adams, new Co-chair.
Look out on future updates as the new Auckland Pride Festival Trust kicks off.
