Kapiti woman facing fraud charges
Kapiti Police have arrested a 32 year old Paraparaumu woman in relation to a number of fraud complaints which have been investigated over the past 18 months.
Sergeant Jacquie Muir of the Kapiti Police says the woman will appear in the Porirua District Court tomorrow facing ten charges of obtaining by deception.
"This follows a lengthy investigation by Kapiti Police into allegations of fraud involving a now-defunct local mortgage broking company."
The total loss suffered by the 10 complainants is alleged to be in the vicinity of one million dollars. Further charges are likely.
The woman was arrested in Paraparaumu on Friday 31 August.
