Timaru Assault

Timaru Assault
At about 3am on Sunday 2nd September (2012), a man was assaulted outside a nightclub in the main street of Timaru.
The 23yr old victim of the assault is a member of the East Coast rugby team who were in Timaru playing South Canterbury on Saturday.
The victim sustained a serious injury to his mouth and was subsequently transferred from Timaru to Christchurch hospital. The full extent of his injuries are unknown at this stage.
Police are still conducting enquiries into the alleged assault and have obtained CCTV footage showing the assault.
At the time of the incident a large crowd was in the vicinity, having just left the adjacent nightclub
Police are requesting anybody who has any information , or who witnessed the incident to contact Timaru police.
