Vehicle collides with shop.
About 0910 pm on Friday 31 August a police traffic unit saw a vehicle driving at high speed down Point Chevalier Road. The vehicle overtook 2 other vehicles on the painted median.
By the time the police unit had done a U-turn he had lost sight of the car. When he drove down Point Chevalier Rd he located the vehicle inside the Point Superette on the corner of Point Chevalier Road and Raymond Road.
It appears the vehicle failed to negotiate a wide bend and mounted the footpath at high speed and crashed into the shop. The impact of the car dislodged a concrete pillar.
The woman driver in the car was taken to hospital with injuries. She was the only occupant. No one inside the building was injured.
