Police investigating death of woman in Upper Hutt
Hutt Valley Police are investigating the death of a woman in Upper Hutt.
Acting officer in charge of the Hutt Valley CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton says Police were called to an Edbentown Street address around 10:15pm last night.
"The body of a woman in her late 30's was discovered inside the house. The scene was guarded overnight and a scene examination is now underway."
Police were notified by family members who had gone to the address and discovered the woman's body.
The name of the woman will be released once all next of kin have been advised.
"Given we are in the very early stages of this investigation, we are unable to provide any further information but hope to be in a position to do so later today."
