A day of fun on the Petone Foreshore
The Petone Winter Carnival is here! Tomorrow, the Petone Foreshore is the place to be, with a myriad of activities and entertainment kicking off at 12pm.
There will be more things happening than previous years - more rides, over 60 food and market stalls, a great variety of activities for the kids, fantastic line-ups for the Classic Hits Main Stage and Secret Level Youth Stage, plus performance and workshop areas.
The Esplanade will be alive with all sorts of street performers; from stilt walkers and buskers to fire dancers and balloon-twisters throughout the day.
The Polar Plunge, the annual winter swim, is also part of the Carnival with registrations from 12pm, and the swim at 1.30pm. Brave the chilly water and raise money for Wesleyhaven in Naenae.
Other highlights include the six huge fire sculptures, which are created on site and burnt one-by-one from 6.30pm.
And of course, the Pelorus Trust Fireshow, an impressive fireworks display set off from the Petone Wharf at 7.30pm gives an ultimate finale to the event.
Don't miss out this great day out for young and old alike.
