Kingston Flyer & T.S.S Earnslaw Day Return Coach Ride 2012
The Otago Heritage Bus Society Inc. is proud to announce that bookings are now open to the public for the second annual day return coach excursion to Kingston, not only will you have the chance to ride on board the iconic Kingston Flyer, we will also be visiting
Queenstown to embrace the “theme of steam” and give you the chance to join the T.S.S Earnslaw, the century old steamship
for a cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm.
This year we have four-fare options available ranging from $40 to $114 per adult or $30 to $90 per child. Further

“For $114 per adult or $90 per child the Society will include the return transfers from Dunedin or Mosgiel to Kingston & Queenstown on board our very own Mount Cook Denning, a classic Landliner of 1977 and also include return tickets on
board the Kingston Flyer steam train and the T.S.S Earnslaw steamship” Founding Chairman Philip Riley said.
“On route to Kingston we will be making a refreshment stop at Mandeville Aircraft Museum where you will be able to view
some of the museums aircraft collection and the original Kingston Flyer the restored Rogers K locomotive.
At Kingston you will also have the chance to indulge in lunch at The Flyer Café & Bar or from other stalls that will be present for the Gala Day Event being held. You may even like to bring a picnic
and enjoy it on the shores of Lake Wakatipu.
We will leave the ‘Flyer’ behind us and join the ‘Lady of the Lake’, the famous Dunedin built steamship the T.S.S
Earnslaw on a routine cruise to Walter Peak. Where you will be able to take in the breath taking mountainous scenery and
view the engine room of a by-gone era,” Philip said.
“This excursion last year was a sell-out and was most enjoyable by all passengers. This year the T.S.S Earnslaw and the
Mount Cook Denning that was designed, built and once operated by Mount Cook Landlines only adds an extra dimension of
enjoyment and comfort to this year’s excursion. If I can give some advise to people wanting to join this years
excursion, I suggest booking as soon as you can, as it will be a sell-out,” Society member and excursion goer Anthony
Baker said.
