Airport Flyer Wi-Fi Reaches New Heights
NZ Bus today announced the upgrade of its Wi-Fi network on the popular Airport Flyer bus services.
The upgrade will still provide free Wi-Fi for commuters on Airport Flyer buses, but with a much better user experience. Accessing the internet while on the move will be faster and more reliable on the new and improved managed free Wi-Fi network.
Using the latest Chauffeur Mobile Wi-Fi system from supplier Tomizone, E3Solutions a long term solutions partner of NZ Bus will be deploying the new system on all 11 Airport Flyer buses and will be available from September this year.
“The uptake from our commuters has been incredible during the pilot said” Zane Fulljames CEO NZ Bus. “Upgrading to the new system means we can provide a much better user experience for our Airport Flyer customers who wish to surf the net or check their emails while on the move. A bus every 15 minutes, free Wi-Fi, Leather seats and Air –conditioning are just some of the comforts on the Airport Flyer that makes this service such a popular choice for travelers from the Airport to Wellington CBD” continued Mr. Fulljames
Access to the Internet on the Airport Flyer will be provided by the Tomizone network in 45-minute blocks. The Airport Flyer has been offering free Wi-Fi to commuters since June 2009. Combined with the increase in Smartphone’s and gadgets that can access the internet and the growing worldwide trend of providing commuter Wi-Fi services, the new and improved network is sure to be a winner with Airport Flyer customers.
“We’ve found this type of service is very popular”, says Steve Simms, Executive Director and Co-founder of Tomizone, “Partners have deployed our Chauffeur Wi-Fi system in Sydney Ferries, Auckland Link Buses as well as trains – commuters love it”.
“We are delighted to be working with our partners E3Solutions and Tomizone in providing a superior internet experience for our Airport Flyer customers.” concluded Mr. Fulljames.
