West Businesses Enter Awards Race
Companies across Auckland West will compete for supremacy in this year’s 2012 Westpac Auckland West Business Awards.
An impressive 129 entries from a wide spectrum of business were received when submissions closed earlier this month.
The highest number of entries came in the Carlton Party Hire Excellence in Customer Engagement and Douglas Pharmaceuticals Excellence in Leadership categories.
Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) runs the awards, and Manager Business Growth West, Zane Taylor, says the types of entries received directly reflects the wider business community’s make-up.
“West Auckland is made up of a wide variety of types, industries and size of businesses. It’s great to see that the awards entries reflects this diversity and acts as a snapshot of the wider business community,” he says.
“As well as celebrating success, the awards programme offers entrants an opportunity to stand back and take a look at their strengths and potential for the future. It’s perfect for those looking for a way to build capability and market growth.”
As primary sponsor of the business awards, Westpac is right behind the 2012 programme.
“It's outstanding to see Auckland West businesses of all sizes putting themselves forward for these annual awards,” says Ian Blair, General Manager Business Banking, Westpac New Zealand Limited. “As a long time supporter of these awards and others around the country, we're thrilled to see so many businesses embracing this opportunity and we look forward to celebrating the winners later this year."
Finalists for the awards will be announced at a special event on Thursday, 20 September at The Trusts Stadium, and winners will be announced at a black-tie gala dinner on Thursday, 8 November 2012.
