Young Speechmaker of the Year
The NZ Lions Clubs 2012 Young Speechmakers National Final was held at Botany Downs Secondary College on Saturday 18th August 2012. This National NZ Lions Clubs International project is available to Youth aged 17-20 years of age.
1st place; Thomas Moss Year 13 Student at St Pauls Collegiate School Hamilton sponsored by Hamilton-Chartwell Lions Club.
2nd; Oscar Shaw Year 13 Student Wellington College sponsored by Karori Lions Club.
3rd Manisha Saini Year 12 Student Tokoroa High School sponsored by Tokoroa and Districts Lions Club.
Thomas’ prize is a trip to Canada/USA. He will take up his prize in Mid December 2012. He will be overseas for a period of 4-6 weeks.
Oscar will receive a trip to Australia. He will travel with MD 202 Youth Exchange programme in December.
Manisha will receive a placement at the Lions International Youth Camp at Lake Okataina Outdoor Education and Recreational Centre Rotorua. The duration of the Camp is for ten days commencing 27th December 2012.
