Fatal Crash
A 45 year old WAIHOU motorcyclist was killed earlier this evening at the intersection of Campbell Road and State Highway 26, WAIHOU.
The local man's motorcycle collided with a car at about 6.45pm as he travelled east on SH26. He died at the scene.
SH26 was closed for several hours with motorists able to use nearby detours avoiding any delays.
Police including the Serious Crash Unit are continuing the investigation to determine the cause of the crash. The two elderly occupants of the car were uninjured and are assisting Police with enquiries.
Details of the deceased have not yet been released.
