Hamilton domestic violence related death update V, post-mortem completed
While a post-mortem examination carried out on a man who died following a domestic violence related incident in Hamilton yesterday has been completed, the other male involved in the struggle has appeared in court on assault charges.
Detective Inspector Sue Schwalger of the Central District CIB said the post-mortem examination into the death of 26-year-old Adam Rawiri PALMER was completed in Auckland today.
"We have received the preliminary findings of this examination into the cause of death however the Coroner is not prepared to release these until further investigations have been made."
"The scene examination of the Knightsbridge Pl property is continuing and is expected to be completed today while Mr PALMER'S body will be released to his family this afternoon."
Ms Schwalger said the homicide investigation into Mr PALMER'S is continuing and a 23-year-old man alleged to have been involved in the altercation at the property has been arrested and appeared in the Hamilton District Court yesterday on a charge of assault.
"Homicide enquiries such as this are complex and there are several people still to be interviewed in relation to events leading up to and including Mr PALMER'S death and it may be some time before more information is available."
