Lotto’s 25th Birthday Kicks-Off With Wins In Auckland & Christchurch
Celebrations for Lotto’s 25th birthday this month are well underway, and these two $500,000 First Division Lotto winners
have really got the ball rolling, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Wayne Pickup.
The tickets were sold at Pak N Save Lincoln Road, Auckland and Ilam New World, Christchurch. Powerball First Division
has jackpotted and will be worth an estimated $8 million next week, meanwhile Strike has also jackpotted to $300,000.
As these wins start to sink in for our Lotto winners tomorrow, we’ll be starting our special promotion, giving away an
extra $7.5 million to celebrate Lotto’s 25th birthday.
“We wanted to do something very special for our big birthday involving all of our players, so we are holding a two week
promotion where every Lotto ticket will be in to win over 1,000 extra prizes worth $7.5 million, plus there will be 25
instant prizes of $25,000 to be won,” says Mr Pickup.
“We believe it’s the biggest-ever promotion in New Zealand history, with a total of $8 million up for grabs.”
The promotion will be held from Sunday 12 August to 7.00 pm on Saturday 25 August.
There are three top prizes of $1 million to be won, plus more than a thousand other prizes up for grabs. In addition,
there are 25 instant prizes of $25,000 to be won on the spot. These prizes can be struck at any time during the
promotional period, in retail stores and online through mylotto.co.nz.
Meanwhile, Michael from Christchurch spun and won $100,000 on the Winning Wheel at the live Lotto draw in Wellington
this evening.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the
type of ticket they buy.
