Ashhurst Village Water Flushing Programme

Ashhurst Village Water Flushing Programme

Palmerston North City Council (PNCC) will start flushing the entire water supply network in Ashhurst Village to remove deposits that cause discoloured water issues. A public notice has been published in the Ashhurst Village Voice which all affected properties should have received. And public notices have been given to Ashhurst shop owners.

A flushing schedule has been developed following a sequence which allows a section of the networks to be cleaned completely before proceeding to the next section. PNCC staff will be flushing the pipes from fire hydrants section by section starting from Tuesday 10 July 9:00 am.

During the flushing process, there could be periodic low water pressure or discoloured water across the Village. To help with the flushing programme, residents are advised to minimise water use on Tuesday 10 July between 9am to 1pm. Residents are advised to check water clarity before using their washing machines for the next two weeks to avoid clothes being stained in the washing.
