The Real Taste of New Zealands' Food Producers
The 2012 Taste Farmers' Markets awards announced the winner of the Farmers Market of the year in true localvore style, celebrating with regional and seasonal food and Yealands Estate Wines in the "Oscar's of food awards". Feilding Farmers Market which operates on a Friday morning in the centre of their vibrant and hustling town centre, secured the personal vote of the Prime Minister, John Key, and thousands of other localvore's to claim the outright win over 34 other Farmers' Markets from Invercargill to Bay of Islands, who were vying for the Farmers Market of the Year Award.
Judges Jonny Schwass, Nadia Lim and Julie Biuso have chosen the best tasting products from farmhouse meats, artisan smallgoods, crisp vegetables and fruits and tempting sweetreat's that truly define the success and growth of Farmers' Markets in the past decade. These category winners included
