Let's Lego at LynnMall - for a good cause!

There's something universal about the appeal of Lego - so simple yet so ingenious and so much fun! Children and parents will love the Kids Interactive Workshops at LynnMall again these school holidays. This time the theme is Lego, and LynnMall is encouraging creative and satisfying play with their Lego workshops for children.

The Lego workshops run from Monday July 2 to Friday 6 and Monday July 9 to Friday 13. There are five Lego workshops per day, with a new theme every day from wild animals to car racing, super heroes, cities and space.

Children aged five to 12 years are invited to sign up for just $5 per session and each child receives a picture of themselves with their Lego design to take home!

Shelley Jenkin, Centre Manager for LynnMall, is looking forward to Lego workshops during the July school holidays. “Both children and parents alike enjoy the entertainment and fun that comes along with the Kids Workshops at LynnMall. Lego is colourful, fun and brings out play and creativity in children, something which we are keen to support at LynnMall” says Shelley.

In addition to the workshops, New Zealand's first Lego Mystery Mosaic will be built over the two weeks of the school holiday at LynnMall.
The Lego mosaic will contain 56,000 bricks, building into a 4 square metre mosaic. For a simple gold coin donation, 1500 people will get the opportunity to assist the Mosaic Designer by assembling a small part of the mosaic. Each small piece contributes to the whole and slowly the picture emerges, which will be complete by the end of the holidays. Proceeds will go to the newly refurbished Rangitira Children’s Unit at Waitakere Hospital.

LynnMall will also donate the completed mosaic to the newly refurbished Rangitira Children’s Unit at Waitakere Hospital after the campaign.

“Kids love Lego so we’re really excited about receiving such a child-friendly piece of artwork for the unit,” says Stephanie Doe, Waitemata DHB’s child health operations manager. “The fact that we will also receive the community’s gold coin donations is really just the icing on the cake for us. Those contributions will help us to keep enhancing the unit as a really welcoming and magical place for sick children and their families. We're very grateful for the support LynnMall and the community are giving us during our WellKids 2012 campaign."

Shelley Jenkin, centre manager, is proud to support the Wellkids Campaign 2012 at LynnMall. “The Rangitira Unit at Waitakere Hospital plays an important role in our community and we are so pleased to be able to assist in making this a brighter place for the children” says Shelley.
