Huge Music Event Seeks Auckland’s Best Musicians
Global Battle of the Bands is looking for the best musicians Auckland has to offer, but they had better be quick! The Auckland Heat is on Sun 10 June (8pm) at The Kings Arms.
Bands wanting to show Auckland what they can do, or get the chance to strut their stuff on the international stage, better gear up because GBOB is ready for a show-down! The event gives bands a fantastic opportunity to make it big in New Zealand and overseas. With over 30 countries involved, the event is massive, and provides local bands with a fantastic chance to get their music heard by large audiences and industry heavy weights. Whoever wins the Australasian Final, will be flown (expenses paid) to the World Final, where they will play off for a first prize is worth US$100,000 and the winner’s the title of ‘Best New Band in the World’!
The Auckland Heat will be judged by some very experienced music industry honchos, which bands will love showcasing their talent to. One of the judges this year will be Kieran Fox. Kieran is one of Auckland’s finest music industry professionals. He is an advanced bassist turned drummer who has performed at most of Auckland's finest venues as well being involved with the Bassment Studio, Takapuna.
GBOB is not only about
giving bands performance opportunities! It also offers
musicians free stuff, which we all know they love! As well
as the trip overseas, there are lots of other great prizes
to be won in GBOB. These include GigLaunch
subscriptions, FujiFilm cameras and Converse
Chuck Taylor shoes…pretty awesome!
The Auckland Heat is on Sun 10 June at The Kings Arms commencing at 8pm. Bands wanting to play still have a chance to get on the bill by contacting organisers now: redletter@bigpond.com or the Sydney number +612 9519 3978.
