Time to acknowledge Palmerston North’s unsung heros

Nominations are now open for both Civic Honours Awards and TrustPower Community Awards.

Both awards serve to acknowledge the huge number of volunteers who make our communities tick both individuals and community groups.

The Civic Honours are given to individuals who have carried out outstanding and innovative voluntary service to others in the community. The service carried out by the nominee should not be a professional service or service carried out while completing the duties of a paid position.

The TrustPower Community Awards recognise and reward voluntary groups and organisations for the contribution they make to the community, no matter how big or small they are. If your group, club or society involves volunteers it can apply or be nominated.

For more information or nomination forms head to the pncc.govt.nz or http://www.communityconnect.co.nz/en/Community-Awards/Entry-Forms-and-Information-Forms.aspx.

Nominations for Civic Honours close at 5pm on Tuesday 31 July 2012 and nominations for the TrustPower Community Awards close on 13 August 2012.
