Temporary closure for Hillcrest Library in Hamilton

Temporary closure for Hillcrest Library

30 May 2012

Hillcrest Library will be closed from Friday, 8 June until Tuesday, 12 June while new circulation counters are installed. The facility will resume normal operating hours from Wednesday, 13 June.

During the closure library customers will be encouraged to access all services, including borrowing and internet, from any of Hamilton City Libraries’ five other library sites. The afterhours return bins will remain open at Hillcrest Library throughout the closure for customers wishing to return their items.

Hamilton City Libraries Service Delivery Manager Robyn Pengelly says the counter upgrade at Hillcrest Library is part of Hamilton City Council's library maintenance programme, and will offer extra ease and efficiency to patrons visiting the library.

“Hamilton City Libraries strive to offer a range of services to our customers in a welcoming and well-presented environment,” she said.

“We are mindful that the temporary closure of Hillcrest Library may inconvenience some customers, however we are confident that any of our other libraries will meet the needs of Hillcrest Library customers accessing library services during this time. We look forward to providing our customers with an improved experience once the new counters are installed.”

The other community libraries throughout the city include Garden Place Library, Chartwell Library on Lynden Court, Glenview Library on McDonald Road, Dinsdale Library on Whatawhata Road, and St Andrews Library on Braid Road.
