A Month Of Powerball

A Month Of Powerball

There may be more than the usual month of Sundays this April, with five popping up, and more Lotto Powerball winners too, with a ticket-holder from Balclutha picking up $5.3 million this evening, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive Wayne Pickup.

“This is our third big Lotto Powerball winner this month, following on from Trevor’s $26 million windfall, and a Christchurch couple’s $5.5 million two weeks ago,” says Mr Pickup.

This week’s winning Lotto Powerball ticket was sold at Balclutha New World. Their prize is made up of $333,333 from Lotto First Division, and $5 million from Powerball First Division.

There were two other Lotto winners tonight, also winning a $333,333 share of Lotto First Division. The tickets were sold at Beachlands Post & Lotto in Manukau and New World New Plymouth.

Strike Four was also struck tonight with a player from Nelson winning $500,000. The winning ticket was sold at Pak N Save Richmond.

Meanwhile, Auckland couple Ana and Lemalu won $100,000 on the Winning Wheel at the live draw in Wellington this evening.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was bought at Orakei Postcentre Superette. The winning serial number is 433-56747537-20xx.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet.

NZ Lotteries’ Mother’s Day promotion launches tomorrow, and with 100 extra prizes of cars and cash up for grabs, it’s going to be a popular present for mums all around the country.

All players who purchase a Lotto Triple Dip ticket between Sunday 29 April and 7pm on the night of the draw, Saturday 12 May, will be in with the chance to win one of the additional exciting prizes.

“At NZ Lotteries we celebrate our winners, but our reason for being is to support the community through the NZ Lottery Grants Board, and we’re very proud that we contribute funding towards Deaf Aotearoa,” says Mr Pickup.

“With New Zealand Sign Language Week kicking off this Monday, we wanted to promote that by doing something special, so we asked Jeremy Borland (aka ‘The Sign Language Guy’) to interpret the live Lotto draw in sign language for us tonight – and we think it was a huge success.”
