Council to Flick the Switch on Software Upgrade
The Waikato District Council is about to implement a major software upgrade to the computer systems that contain its main databases of customer information.
The upgrade will be implemented on April 26 and 27, and over these two days council staff will not be able to update records, or enter payments on our system.
We will still be open for business on these days, and our customer service team across the district will still be able to access our system to view information, assist with enquiries and take payments. However information cannot be entered or amended in our systems over this time.
To assist us in carrying out this upgrade, we would ask that where possible, Waikato residents avoid April 26 and 27 when filing applications or making payments with the council.
Council staff will be doing everything they can to minimise disruption during this upgrade, and we appreciate the patience of Waikato residents while we carry out this important upgrade work.
This upgrade will give the council the latest in records-management software, enabling us to keep better manage the information we keep. This means staff can do their jobs more efficiently, and provide a higher level of service to our customers. It has cost about $150,000 and taken around nine months to complete.
