More Trans-Tasman Trade At Agricultural Shows: Northland Field Days President
More Agricultural service companies are exploring trans-Tasman trade options according to Northland Field Days president

Almost all of the annual regional agricultural field days events have been held around the country with record
attendance in most cases and event organisers seeing an increase in the number of businesses exhibiting at events.
With 100% of the South Island Field Days sites being filled, 97% of the Northland event being filled and 95% of the
upcoming Central Districts field days sites being filled it appears that businesses are upbeat about the next 12 months.
What has been especially interesting though, according to Northland Field Days president Lew Duggan, has been the
increasing number of New Zealand businesses showing off their wares at Australian shows and the increasing number of
Australian businesses showing off their wares at New Zealand agricultural shows .
“The trans-Tasman interest in exhibiting being shown is quite astonishing,” said Mr Duggan. “There now appears to be a
growing interest in a trans-tasman curcuit of high profile agricultural shows that businesses make a point of going to.”
Jock Roberts, managing director of Beacon Marketing, creators of bulling beacon, said he decided to head to NZ because
he wanted to ensure that New Zealand farmers were aware that their product was available.
“We have received good exposure at all three events and intend participating next year,” said Roberts.
South Island Innovator, Mike Key the managing director of James Engineering, says he does all of the events to promote
the products to farmers and make sure they get all the information they need.
“Leads from these events will keep us going steady throughout the year,” “It's been the way we've worked and it's
certainly kept things going.”
