Assaults overnight - Wellington Central City

15th April 2012

Members of the Wellington CIB are today investigating two unrelated incidents of assault that occurred on Courtenay Place, Wellington between 2.00am and 2.30am on Sunday the 15th of April 2012.

The first occurred on the footpath outside the Rain Bar where an Asian man was assaulted after having abuse yelled at him by two persons.

The second incident involved two groups of males and started on the footpath outside Reading Cinemas on Courtenay Place finishing a short distance away near the Cue Room.

Police are seeking any witnesses to the assaults and ask that any person with any information that may assist the investigation contact the Wellington Central Police Station on (04) 381 2000 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
