Design Concepts For Mckenzie Pool Developed

HUTT CITY COUNCIL NEWS RELEASE
20 MARCH 2012

Design Concepts For Mckenzie Pool Developed
Hutt City Council has developed three concepts for the upgrade of the McKenzie outdoor pool in Udy Street Petone.

Leisure Active Manager for Hutt City Council, Marcus Sherwood, said Council will be seeking public comment on the three designs for the pool upgrade which is planned for later in the year
“Each has a slightly different focus while ensuring the main requirements of a public pool are met. The pool must meet modern standards for construction, safety and operations meaning that a lot of the costs are in upgrading the machinery and infrastructure of the pool”

Mayor Ray Wallace said Council had been very decisive in making a clear decision on the future of the McKenzie Pool.

“The designs will be available for public comment and once feedback has been collated a final concept will be developed,” he said.

To find out more information and to see the three concepts go to the project page on the Council website: www.huttcity.govt.nz/mckenziepool. Consultation closes on April 20.
