Bikers to ride for The Wellington City Mission
Bikers to ride for The Wellington City Mission
Motorcyclists are again invited to bring out their bikes on Sunday 1st April for a charity run in support of The Wellington City Mission.
BRONZ Wellington Inc’s Charity Ride will travel from Lower Hutt to Wellington City collecting Easter Eggs for those who are currently on the Mission for Families programme, one of four community service programmes administered by The Wellington City Mission. (Mission for Independence, Mission for Youth and Mission for Seniors make up the balance of services).
BRONZ Wellington Inc. is just one of the regional organisations of like-minded and community spirited motorcyclists that make up Bikers Rights Organisation New Zealand, a political and community-based lobby group representing motorcyclists.
With the dedicated assistance of unpaid volunteers we organise many events that promote our political advocacy stance to protect our rights and equality as members of society who have made a mode of transport choice.
Organising events and rides for charity is a very important aspect of that and a long tradition of all BRONZ organisations in New Zealand since the late 70’s. Further to that, we also encourage ongoing skills training, safe riding techniques, and help to develop motorcycling within the community.
When looking for a beneficiary for our Easter Chocolate run The Wellington City Mission was a unanimous choice. BRONZ Wellington Inc. is proud to make a difference to this organisation and the people they care for and support.
The Wellington City Mission’s Marketing Manager, Leanne Thompson, is delighted to be working again with BRONZ Wellington Inc. “The Mission chooses strategic partners that really understand the value of our work within the community, Leanne said. “The enthusiastic and professional team at BRONZ wants to raise funds for The Mission through this special event, but they also want to make sure that our families receive a special Easter treat on the day. That means a lot to people who are struggling."
The cost of registration for the ride (which includes a ride badge) is $10 and a donation of Easter eggs (or chocolate). Registration opens at 10.00am April 1st at TSS Red Baron Motorcycles, 411 Cuba St, Alicetown, where donations of easter eggs and chocolate will be collected. The ride will depart at 11.00am and will ride out of the Hutt Valley via SH2, SH58 (Haywards Hill) and return via SH1, finishing at Odlins Plaza where, supported by Macs Brewbar & Function Centre, there will be a presentation to The Wellington City Mission.
Information or pre-registration to registration@bronzwellington.org.nz Many thanks are due to our supporters: TSS Red Baron Wellington, Scooterazzi, Motorad, Nestle, Oil Changers, Tribe Design, Macs Brewbar and Function Centre
