22 February Buses
Bus drivers across the Metro Bus network will bring their buses to a halt at 12.51pm tomorrow for two minutes to allow drivers and passengers to reflect on the first anniversary of the 22 February 2011 earthquake.
“We feel it’s important to allow drivers and passengers to join in observing the two-minute silence,” said the Chief Executive of Red Bus Ltd Mr Paul McNoe.
Mr McNoe said about 60 buses in the Red Bus fleet would be on the road as 12.51pm approached. Drivers would look for a safe place to stop the bus just ahead of the two-minute observance.
