Smiling Windmills set to sparkle
Avalon Park’s Smiling Windmills sculpture is set for its quarterly spruce up later this month.
The blades on the series of three colourful giant-size windmills will be removed and coated with a sparkle coating to preserve their lustre and protect them from fading in the sun.
Work will begin in the week starting Monday 20 February and visitors to the park will notice the windmills down for about three days.
Smiling Windmills was created by artist Leon van den Eijkel and has been a popular attraction at the park since it was installed in 2008.
