Brightwater Wine and Food Festival draws a crowd
‘A
fabulous day with fantastic fare on offer and a great range
of local and international talent’ is the verdict on this
year’s Brightwater Wine and Food Festival, held in balmy
summer weather on Sunday.
Event Manager Glenda Buschl says it will be some time until the final attendance figures are tallied up, along with the amount made for Richmond Rotary community projects, but she says the feedback was overwhelming positive.
“Everyone had smiles on their dials and the crowd was completely blown away by the finale with all our big stars on stage together - Glenn Shorrock, Sharon O’Neill and Mark Williams.”
Ms Buschl says the festival had ‘lifted its game’ with the international guest musicians and with the new concept of hospitality tents, which were very successful.
“There was some resistance to the changes and to the price rise they brought about, but we still had a good crowd who really appreciated all that was on offer.”
Four local bands, The Peasants, The Wizard Band, The Saints and The House of Kramit also performed at the festival.
The Brightwater Wine and Food Festival is a Richmond Rotary fundraising event that has been able to distribute over $200,000 to local charities over the years. The festival committee has yet to decide who the beneficiaries will be this year.
