Christchurch Earthquake update for Countdown Supermarkets
24 December 2011: The earthquakes in Christchurch yesterday disrupted operations in our supermarkets. Our thoughts remain with everyone in Canterbury, and our priority continues to be the safety of our team and our customers. Following an extensive clean up process and engineer checks, we have been able to reopen all but one of our stores in Christchurch. Countdown The Palms remains closed and will open on Boxing Day at 8:00am.

• Countdown The Palms (to reopen Boxing Day, 8:00am)
Online shopping:
Our online shopping service in Christchurch is not operating until further notice. Any customers with orders for today should now have been contacted by our Customer Services team. If customers have any queries regarding their order they can contact us on 0800 40 40 40.
Supply chain:
Our supply chain remains intact, and essential supplies are available in all stores.
SuperValue and Fresh Choice:
All SuperValue and Fresh Choice stores are now open.
