SBS Bank to sponsor 2012 Southland A&P Show.
SBS Bank is pleased to announce it will again be the major naming sponsor of the 2012 Southland A&P Show being held at Donovan Park on 3 March 2012. SBS Bank general manager agribusiness Malcolm Little said the show was a great community occasion.
“We here at SBS Bank are very proud of our long standing relationship with the rural community and are extremely committed to helping them on their journey. Our sponsorship of the Southland A&P Show is just another way we can show our support.”
For the first time, the 2012 show will be held at Donovan Park but all of the regular features and events will still be showcased including sheep, beef, dairy and equestrian classes along with car boot sites, wood chopping and the ever popular petting zoo.
The theme for the 2012 show is ‘animals’ and Southland A&P Association President Barry Macdonald said the event would be great family day out. “We’ve got lots of great activities and entertainment suitable for both young and old and we’re really hoping the people of Invercargill and Southland come out and show their support for our great event. We’ve also got a new feature for the 2012 show which will be a drive-in movie.
“Although the location may have changed the atmosphere and essence of what makes a really great A&P Show will still definitely be there and we’re really looking forward to everyone enjoying our new venue.” The Southland A&P Association is also a winner of SBS Bank’s Star monthly prize draws for non-profit clubs and societies.
“SBS Star not only offers fee-free transactional banking for hard-working nonprofit organisations, it also has 10 prize draws every month where there is the chance to win $1000. “It’s another new way we can provide our customers with additional benefits for staying loyal to Southland’s local bank,” Mr Little said.
Mr Macdonald said the additional money had been greatly received. “It was a wonderful feeling when Sharron from SBS Bank rang to say we had won the $1000. It’s great to be rewarded for all the hard work our committee puts into our local A&P Show and the additional money will go along way towards the 2012 show.”
