Lots of fun on offer during school holidays

The summer school holidays are just around the corner and Hutt City Council have put together an exciting range of fun activities guaranteed to keep the kids entertained.

Indoor go karting, bush walking, softball, indoor sports, movies, arts and crafts and swimming are just some of the school holiday activities available for 5 to 13-year-olds at venues across the city from 10 to 27 January 2012.

Recreation and Events Manager Duncan Chisholm says, "There is plenty to keep the kids stimulated, engaged and entertained these school holidays.”

The programmes are based at three venues around the city – Belmont Hall, Gracefield School and Walter Nash Stadium.

All programmes run from 9am to 3.30pm with extra morning and afternoon care available at the Belmont and Gracefield programmes. Costs vary from day to day, depending on the activity and the length of care required.

All programmes are OSCAR accredited and customers may be eligible for a WINZ Childcare and Oscar Subsidy. Please contact WINZ on 0800 559 009 for further information.

Bookings open on Monday 19 December and are expected to fill quickly. Holiday programme brochures are available at Hutt City pools, libraries, the council building and online at www.huttcity.govt.nz/schoolholidays
