Big Wednesday Prize of $8.4 Million Won in Greymouth
One lucky player from Greymouth will be living Big Wednesday’s brand new ultimate lifestyle after striking the top First
Division prize, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.
“Big Wednesday was refreshed in September with a new prize line-up, and last night’s winner is the first person to take
home these fantastic prizes.
“The winner has won a massive prize package worth $8,412,300, which consists of the new luxury prizes of a Lamboghini
Gallardo LP560-4, an Audi Q7, a Rayglass 2200 boat, $50,000 cash towards luxury travel, $50,000 Platinum VISA card,
$675,000 cash towards a bach, as well as $7 million cash,” says Mr McLeay.
The winning ticket was sold at Greymouth New World, and is the largest prize sold by the store, and the sixth biggest
Big Wednesday prize ever won. It also comes just over a year since a $10.6 million Big Wednesday prize was won in the
small West Coast town of Reefton.
Big Wednesday has been struck four times in 2011; in July, two Big Wednesday players from Canterbury won $4.6 million
each in cash and prizes, in March,a Big Wednesday player in Wellington won $6.7 million and in January 2011, a player in
Te Kuiti won a Big Wednesday prize of $5.2 million.
Mr McLeay’s advice for this week’s Big Wednesday winners is to write their name and address on their ticket as soon as
possible, confirming ownership, and to contact NZ Lotteries in order to determine their next steps.
