Voices of Our Ancestors

Ariana Tikao, Christine White and Mahina-Ina Kaui

Touring musicians and songwriters Ariana Tikao, Christine White, and Mahina-Ina Kaui bring their show Voices of Our Ancestors to Rotorua this Friday.

The show brings together the three Ngāi Tahu musicians celebrating their tribal ancestry through funky grooves, lush harmonies, haunting ballads and textured electronics in an infusion of the ancient with the modern.

This collaboration has been created especially for their nationwide tour with Arts On Tour NZ, which began in Kaitaia and will end in Otautahi/Christchurch.

Voices of Our Ancestors is presented with support from Ngāi Tahu ki Rotorua. Local young singer-songwriter Tessa Norton-Campbell (of Rotorua Lakes High) will open for the trio.

Voices of Our Ancestors will be staged at the Tribal Lights Theatre on Geddes Road on Friday November 11. Doors open at 7pm and the show will start at 7.30pm. Tickets can be pre-booked via kiri.jarden@gmail.com.

$10 general admission or $5 student/kaumatua
