Rotorua's a great place to live and it's time to celebrate
Destination Rotorua Marketing (DRM) is helping locals do just that, with its second Locals' Week promotion starting next week. The promotion is designed to encourage residents to experience the world-class attractions in their backyard, with participating attractions giving fabulous discounts.
All city residents are entitled to at least 50 percent off entry fees into participating attractions.
There are 20 local attractions involved in the promotion, giving the Rotorua community a great range of options, DRM domestic manager Craig Hammond says.
Locals' Week is now in its second year and DRM looks forward to building on the success of the inaugural promotion in 2010. "DRM has worked closely with industry for this event and the support from operators has been tremendous," Craig says.
"Locals' Week is all about celebrating the fact we live in a tourism city and giving our residents the opportunity to have fantastic and new experiences they can share with and recommend to family and friends when they visit over summer. Tourism is very important to our community and this is a fantastic opportunity for residents to play an active part in supporting and promoting that industry."
There are also two prize packs, comprising $1500 and $500 worth of attraction vouchers, up for grabs.
Locals' week specials are only available from November 7-13.
