Sky Tower tells the score for RWC Quarters through Finals!
Starting this weekend SKYCITY will be using the Sky Tower as the largest scoreboard in New Zealand as the colours of the top section of the tower follow the score of the games for the evening RWC matches being held at Eden Park.
This Saturday night, a white Sky Tower will show that England is in front and a blue tower will signify the French are leading the match! The top of the Sky Tower will stay in the colour of the winning team for the remainder of the evening.
Sunday night’s clash between New Zealand and Argentina will see NZ represented by black, with Argentina having light blue lighting if they take the lead.
If or when the score is drawn the Sky Tower top will split into both teams colours.
This is the first time ever the Sky Tower has used its special LED lighting to project the live results of a sports match across the city.
SKYCITY CEO Nigel Morrison says: “We’ve had such a great response to lighting the tower for the twenty counties in the lead up to the cup and over the last few weeks as we have celebrated the great All Blacks triumphs. We’re hoping the Sky Tower will be turned black and white this Sunday evening!”
SKYCITY will be showing all the live coverage of the games this weekend on more than 50 screens across the site. There will also be a great selection of food and beverage offers, for more details visit: www.skycityauckland.co.nz
