Katy B Pulls Out Of R&V Soundcheck, Nero To Replace Katy On Bill
It is with regret that Rhythm and Vines and Ambient Events announce that Katy B has had to pull out of tonight’s R&V Soundcheck show due to personal reasons.
Withdrawing from the remainder of the Australian Parklife 2011 Tour and the one-off New Zealand show at Auckland’s Vector Arena, Katy B has flown back to London immediately.
A statement from Katy’s management says: “Katy is extremely sad to pull out of R&V Soundcheck and wishes Diplo, Magnetic Man, Digitalism and Ruby Frost the very best for the show she will be missing in Auckland tonight.
“She also apologises wholeheartedly to her New Zealand fans and promises she will be back very soon.”
In better news for those attending R&V Soundcheck, organisers are pleased to announce Katy’s replacement in the line-up - UK dubsteppers Nero.
The ultimate electro/rock/drum n’ bass megaband, Nero is the definition of dubstep with grinding beats and wobbly, super-distorted sounds bludgeoning eardrums a go-go, yo!
With their debut album ‘Me & You’ royally crowned ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Nero assaulted the Coachella masses earlier this year with their bass canons and they sucked it up, dropped to their knees and begged for more.
Total Beatport Award re-offenders, Nero won Best Dubstep Track for ‘Act Like You Know’ in 2009 and in 2010 they walked away as the Best Dubstep Act - yes the Best. It’s official.
Says R&V organiser Hamish Pinkham: “We apologise to all those looking forward to seeing Katy B perform, just as we were.
“We hope people will enjoy Nero just as much. We’ve had a lot of requests from fans to bring Nero to New Zealand, just as with Katy, and it’s great get an act of their calibre at such short notice. They should put on a great show.”
