The Life Flight Trust Winches a trail bike rider from Hira near Nelson
At 10:40am this morning the Life Flight Trust winched an injured Trail Bike rider off a track in Hira near Nelson.
Life Flight responded with a Wellington Free Paramedic on board the Westpac Rescue Helicopter
The male was treated at the scene by the local St John Ambulance crew.
Due to his location on the dirt track and injuries he had to be winched into the helicopter
The patient a 39yr old male from Warkworth had been out for a Trail ride when he fell off and the handlebar struck him in the groin area. He was flown to Nelson Hospital Emergency Department where he is being further assessed and treated for his injuries.
The Life Flight Trust is a charity providing air
rescue and air ambulance services. It operates the
Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter and a national
