Well-behaved crowd in Wellington pleases Police

Wellington Police are pleased with the crowd behaviour at the South Africa versus Wales pool game at Westpac Stadium this evening.

Wellington Police District RWC operation commander Inspector Simon Perry says the large crowd enjoyed themselves tonight and enjoyed the game.

“We’re really pleased with the way the crowd behaved. There was one arrest for disorderly behaviour and no evictions.”

Police would also like to thank the taxi companies who complied with the Transport Management Plan and facilitated the early arrival of a number of the fans.

Inspector Perry says extra Police staff are on the beat in the city this evening, to cope with the influx of visitors to city after the game.
