Christchurch Hospital car park building reopens
Christchurch City Council has reopened the Christchurch Hospital car park building situated on the west side of Antigua Street between Tuam and St Asaph Streets.
The Hospital car park building had reopened for a short period immediately after the 22 February earthquake. However, it closed again following the 13 June earthquakes.
Road Corridor Operations Manager Paul Burden says the number of car parking spaces in the Central City has now increased by 350 spaces with the reopening of the Christchurch Hospital car park building. Six mobility spaces are also available.
“The opening of the Christchurch Hospital car park building is great news as it will free up on-street parking in the area and make more spaces available in the temporary South Hagley Park car park behind the Horticultural Hall on Riccarton Avenue,” he says.
The temporary South Hagley Park car park will remain open until the Hospital’s staff car park is reopened.
To get to the Christchurch Hospital car park building vehicles may approach from either direction on Antigua Street. Pedestrian entrances are off Antigua and Tuam streets.
The Christchurch Hospital car park building’s opening hours are the same as those advertised before the earthquakes:
Open Monday – Friday 7am – 8.45pm
Saturday – Sunday 9am – 8.45pm
