Special train services for this weekend’s game
Tranz Metro will be running special train services to get rugby fans home after the South Africa versus Wales game at Wellington Stadium this Sunday night.
“There have been many enquiries about the additional capacity on Match Days, especially the late game on Sunday, where timetabled services are not as frequent,” says Tranz Metro Manager Scott Brooks.
“Tranz Metro will have two extra trains departing Wellington Railway Station for each of the Johnsonville, Upper Hutt and Kapiti lines directly after the game. These trains will be capacity driven and will be in addition to the existing timetabled services for a Sunday night.
“This is further to a special midnight service which will also run on the Johnsonville, Hutt Valley and Kapiti lines.”
Match Day 2-trip and Group Rover tickets will be available for cash sale from staff at various stations on the Johnsonville, Upper Hutt and Kapiti lines. As usual, tickets can also be purchased on the train.
