Mobile-friendly holiday park website launched
The Holiday Accommodation Parks Association New Zealand (HAPNZ) has launched a mobile version of its website m.holidayparks.co.nz ready for the tens of thousands of international visitors and Kiwis travelling throughout New Zealand for Rugby World Cup 2011.
“People accessing the m.holidayparks.co.nz website through their mobile phones has increased more than 600% in the six months ended August 2011, clearly showing the need for a mobile-friendly version of the site,” says HAPNZ Chief Executive Fergus Brown.
He says the mobile version of the website provides visitors with brief information on the Association’s 300-plus holiday parks throughout New Zealand. A ‘push to call’ button makes it easy for travellers using any type of smart phone to access the site and driving directions and Google maps make it easy to find the holiday park.
“We have also taken the opportunity to refresh our main website with an updated look and more importantly improved search capability and regional information. Regional Tourism Organisations around the country have provided us with fresh information and images.”
Mr Brown says the majority of HAPNZ holiday parks now offer online real-time booking facilities, making it easy for visitors to check rates and book accommodation whether they are looking for a campervan site, a cabin or a park motel.
