Springing Into Dry Mild Weather
The sunny, dry and mild weather expected around much of the country this week should feel decidedly spring-like, says
MetService.
"A large high is forecast to pass slowly across New Zealand during the next few days," commented MetService Weather
Ambassador Bob McDavitt. "This weather pattern is a significant departure from those in July and August when, in
general, the influence of anticyclones in the New Zealand area was to push cold air onto the country. This week,
afternoon temperatures in the mid to high teens are expected in many northern and eastern places."
McDavitt added that Auckland should hold onto its fine weather until at least the kick-off of the Rugby World Cup
tournament on Friday. "For the coming weekend, a change in weather pattern is likely to bring wind and rain to some
places, but it's still a little early to be too specific about this."
