Police investigation continuing at Pukehina
Western Bay of Plenty Police are continuing their investigation today after two people were found at a Pukehina property
late yesterday afternoon.
The Bay of Plenty Police District Field Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Mark Loper, says Police and St Johns
Ambulance were called to the property at approximately 4pm.
Detective Inspector Loper says the bodies of two adults – a male and a female – were found at the address.
“At this stage, there is nothing to suggest a third person was involved.”
Detective Inspector Loper says the scene was secured overnight, with a detailed scene examination due to be undertaken
this morning. He says ESR will be arriving at the property this morning to assist with the scene examination.
He says investigative staff will also be undertaking inquiries in the area.
Detective Inspector Loper says it is expected that the two bodies will likely be removed later today and will then be
taken to Auckland for a post mortem.
Detective Inspector Loper says the investigation has only just begun, with many details still unconfirmed.
He says Police are unable to provide any further details at this time. He says Police will not speculate at this stage
on the cause of death.
It is expected that Police will be able to release the names of the two deceased people later this afternoon.
